Watson was a key performer for both the Vodacom Stormers and WP last season. He led a young and inexperienced Province team to the Absa Currie Cup semi-finals and was very unfortunate not to be included in the Springbok team. The captain of the Vodacom Stormers and WP was the recipient of the SA Rugby 2006 Vodacom Super 14 Player of the Year Award. Luke was also strongly in the running for the prestigious Players’ Player of the Year award, narrowly losing out to Kabamba Floors. His great leadership skills, affable personality and consistent form inspires great confidence in his team mates.
