Former Wallaby coach Eddie Jones’ involvement in the Springboks’ World Cup preparations will be extended if Jake White gets his way.
Speaking to Gavin Rich of Supersport after training, the Bok coach said:
“Eddie wants to do the job and the board have told me that they will give me any assistance that I may need in the effort to the win the World Cup, so we have those two boxes ticked already.
“Most of the ground-work has been done, we just have to finalise a few things.
“Eddie is very keen to be part of our World Cup campaign, and he is very positive about the skill and the explosive power that he has seen while he has worked with us over the past week.
“The players have also been receptive to him.
“Eddie has experience which no-one else can match. He took Australia to a World Cup final just a few years ago.
“It is not like we are bringing in a guy who was involved in top rugby 10 years ago, this is a man who until recently was very much involved still and who was coaching one of the major contenders for this World Cup,†said White.
