Springbok coach in positive mood

Thomas Rooney | Ahead of their final Rugby Championship match against New Zealand this weekend, South Africa have announced an unchanged side.

New Zealand have already secured the Championship of course, something they achieved when they hammered Argentina last time out. Although they were favourites to win this one with those who bet online with Bet Victor, it was an impressive display.

Coach Heyneke Meyer is desperate to finish with a win for South Africa though and is therefore keen to play the strongest team possible. They may not be able to pip the Kiwis, but they still want to finish on a high.

Injuries have played their part for South Africa of course and even though Meyer stopped short of blaming them for his side failing to win the inaugural Championship between New Zealand, Argentina, South Africa and Australia.
He is also confident that is team will receive a few fitness boosts ahead of this weekend.

Speaking ahead of the clash in Soweto, he said: “I’m positive everyone will be fit, most of them trained well this morning.”

“We’ve been hit hard by injuries this year, but thanks to the great work done by our medical team we’ve managed to sort out a few of the niggles left over from the Wallaby match.”

“Our players are our greatest assets and I’m happy to have Coenie available again this weekend.”
“We will always consider the players’ welfare first, which is why we decided to get several opinions on Coenie’s neck.”

With the Soccer City Stadium crowd in expectant mood, South Africa need a performance this weekend. The chance at the title may be gone, but the pressure is well and truly on.

Victory and nothing less will do for the home crowd, although New Zealand are the favourites with those who bet at www.betvictor.com.

Which way will it go? Find out on Saturday.
