Agen and Fiji’s celebrated winger Rupeni Caucaunibuca has been suspended for three months after failing a drug test.
‘Roops’ as he has become known in Agen, tested positive for cannabis after Agen’s match against Montauban on March 24.
The incident may bring to a close Caucaunibuca’s turbulent time with Agen which, after two seasons in which he finished top try-scorer in the Top 14, descended into near farce this season.
The Fijian returned for the season three months late after being struck down with a tropical fever and losing 10kg of weight. He has scored only one Top 14 try this season, making a meagre 11 appearances.
The suspension does not prevent him from taking part in the Rugby World Cup.
