Currie Cup Roundup – Week 5

In week 5 action in the Currie Cup, Griquas thumped the Falcons at home, the Cheetahs continued their strong showing by beating the Lions at Ellis Park, The Sharks edged out Boland in Wellington and Western Province lost once again to the Bulls.

Griquas 63 v 10 Valke

Wildeklawer Griquas dominated up front and scored four tries in the first twenty minutes to convincingly beat the Valke at home in Kimberley on Friday.

Cheetahs flyhalf Willem De Waal was his team’s chief playmaker as the Bloemfontein side continued their unbeaten run under Naka Drotske in this year’s Currie Cup. The Lions forwards defended well, but their backs let them down with some poor handling.
