In week 5 action in the Currie Cup, Griquas thumped the Falcons at home, the Cheetahs continued their strong showing by beating the Lions at Ellis Park, The Sharks edged out Boland in Wellington and Western Province lost once again to the Bulls.

Wildeklawer Griquas dominated up front and scored four tries in the first twenty minutes to convincingly beat the Valke at home in Kimberley on Friday.
